Norm Pitcher in Canada is a good friend to pRICE - he originally contacted me about photography in the Philippines & the issues of the poor there - but the amazing thing is he wants to try to vist Lisa & LetLet's Family in Cebu...so I have given him some preliminary contact info. & have asked him to be sure to bring BIG RICE for the Family when he gets there.

'A lot of Filipinos live on the fringes. So when i came across your pics in www.pbase.com i was blown away. As an amateur photographer for about 40 years i was very impressed with your work. I couldn't stop looking. I want to go to the Philippines to to see this beautiful country.
There were several thoughts that came to mind when looking at your pics. First and foremost, I want to help. Have you considered the possibility of escorted photo tours for small groups or would you consider taking me with you in October at least for a week or so?'
'I really think that i understand how bad some of these people need help.
When i first saw the Project Rice page in pbase, I wanted to donate something. I thought it needs to be a registered charity, and now it is. Would you be interested in the possibility setting up a Canadian chapter. I would be more than willing to help with my time and effort on this. In the mean time, I am making a donation to your org there and i will encourage all my friends to do the same.'

'I was hoping to go there when you were there, but the opportunity came up now.
Visiting Lisa & LetLet's Family I sure will be a high point of my trip.
I have done some preliminary inquires here for non profit and charity. There is a fairly long time line to accomplish this, especially if linked to a US non profit.
If you could give me any contacts in Cebu, I would be glad to meet them.
If you could give me the number or other way to contact your friend Joel, I would appreciate it. I may need his assistance some of the time.
By the way my camera is a Nikon D200, with 18-70mm, 70-300, and a 60mm macro. Still looking for some pro glass, but cant afford that either. My brother is a pro in central BC, but he wont loan me his D2X. He does have a 48inch wide Epson printer that I could use.
Please feel free to use my name on your site - in fact there is a possibility of soliciting some donations from work, if it is mentioned that I was going.
I will be checking email and hopefully posting some daily info and pics.'
Sincerely
Norm Pitcher

I have known Norm Pitcher for a very long time and if I can help him to set up a Canadian chapter I will. He's not only a great photographer but a warm and caring person Paul so do allow him to help you. If I could be there I would. He sent me to your site and your photographs touched me deeply. Thank you for caring so much. I will donate to you but tell me what else I can do to help please.
Sincerly, Leah
Dear Mr. Paul James,
I'm very humbled by your efforts in feeding some very poor children in the Philippines.Thank you very much for your kindness.I know that you are doing a great job by addressing their basic needs, food and clothing, however, what will happen to these children if they don't go to school. They would be forever poor and the cycle of poverty continues.I don't know, perhaps if you will establish a charity that feeds, clothed and educate these children, then your great effort will bear fruits.By visiting your site I've noticed that people will be moved by your photograps of the children. You mentioned that you are planning to base your operation in Bantayan Island.I think it is a good choice. There are other charities there too,but most of them are affiliated with religiuos organization. It didn't deter me from helping though because my donation finance the education of two Bantayanon children and my name doesn't appear which suits me because I'm from Bantayan myself and I have some relatives that think you have to be super rich in order to help others.Bless your kind heart and I hope I will meet you in bantayan Island someday. With warmest greetings from Okinawa!
