Compelling eyes from Leyte

Jan. 30, 2005: Leyte Philippines
Camera: Olympus E-1: 1/160s f/5.0 at 54.0mm iso200

One of my best images from 2005 that I shot while walking through an open market there, in a very small town where most people live very simply and without many creature comforts we have here in the West.

This child has some of the most compelling eyes I've ever seen; very dark eyes that draw you into him, and when he saw me he was absolutely fixated on me as I smiled back at him.
...Mama & Papa were out shopping for the evening supper and were buying a little fish and RICE for their upcomming meal.

He's fortunate in that he has two very loving & attentive Parents, and I'm happy they allowed me to get his little portrait.

Thanks for reading today,
PJAMES
