Kevin Weir Philippines 2008 Montage:
FUJIFILM FinePix S3Pro, with Nikon & Sigma lens

Kev's coming back to the Island today and should arrive by the afternoon with LetLet, older brother JunJun and one of the other siblings who've never been here before; I'm not sure who though, but I know LetLet's excited to be able to come back and I'm sure the others will really enjoy this place for a few days, seeing as they've never been outside Cebu before, and have never been in a taxi or on a Ferry Boat.

The food poisoning from last Sunday is slowly going away, and I'm just getting back to editing images - I'm lucky it wasn't as severe as last year, and I ate solid food for the first time yesterday (mango) and an egg sandwich earlier today; no worries so far.

I ended up going 3 days without any solid food; just lots of water and some juices, and I didn't get to my doctor's - I thought I could get through it without a prescription and I did.

Now in town since the price increases on rice are still going up, we've got lines outside the rice vendors in town, with locals buying coupons to get NFA rice at P18.50 per kilo (3kg. per person limit) as the high grade rice has now hit just under P40 per kilo.

There's some screaming & yelling in the cues once tickets & rice are physically handed out, and who knows what to expect if prices continue to rise - anyone with experience in crowd management knows the effect that mob-mentality can have on a already angry crowd.

It'll be good to have Kevin back for a bit - he's a good photographer and I put together a nice montage some of his most recent images from Philippines in 2008.

Thanks for reading today,
PJAMES
